    What is the cancellation policy?
    If you must cancel, please do so as early as possible so that we can make appropriate changes in the workshop schedule and ensemble personnel. Included in the tuition payment is a $75 non-refundable registration fee. If you need to cancel at any time, you will be refunded the amount you paid minus the $75 registration fee. This registration fee applies to both the regular price and early bird discount.
    Are there scholarships available?
    San Diego Bass Fest and the San Diego Community Music School keeps the costs as low as possible while maintaining an internationally recognized faculty in order to make it as amazing for as many students as possible. There are no merit based scholarship, however there are a few need-based scholarships and work-study scholarship on a case-by-case basis.    Students 18 and under are prioritized for these scholarships. All scholarship requests should be made by the end of April for consideration.  Please email sdsucommunitymusic@sdsu.edu if you would like to inquire about this possibility.       
    How can I make a tax-deductible contribution?

    Donations to the SDSU Community Music School are tax-deductible and can be earmarked specifically for San Diego Bass Fest.   Please consider making a donation to this program to support local area student bassists.

    Checks payable to SDSU CMS  Also, include "Bass Fest DONATION" in the memo section of the check to ensure proper processing.

    What do I need to bring to Bass Fest?
    No instruments will be provided.  You need to provide everything you need to rehearse and perform each day:  bass, bow, rosin, rockstop, stool(if used), and music.    There is overnight storage for instruments for your convenience. Bass Fest will make small ensemble and Bass Orchestra music assignments at the beginning of June. Please print and have with you each day.
    Do I need to bring my own music?
    There will be opportunities to play in masterclasses as well as group lessons or individual lessons.  It is recommended that you have some musical selections on-hand however it isn't mandatory. Bass Fest will assign music for small ensembles and Bass Orchestra.  You will need to print this, practice it, and bring with you each day.    
    What is a typical schedule for each day?
    Every year we host internationally known double bass performers and teachers and depending on their availability the schedule and offerings might fluctuate.    A typical day might look like:
    9am - 10am  Group Warmup and Technique
    10am - 11am Classical Solo Masterclass or Jazz Group Session
    11am - 12pm Bass Orchestra
    12pm - 1pm   Lunch
    1pm - 2pm     Movement Class
    2pm - 3pm     Group Lessons
    3pm - 4pm     Small Ensemble Rehearsals
    4pm - 5pm     Special Topics Presentation
